Good Morning! Getting the kids on their work and working on setting up a field trip to not sure where yet. Also going to get treats made to send to family far away and then tomorrow I need to work on the treats and meal plan for my family here at home. The tradition is to make them one of their favorite meals. I usually set up the table with Valentine's Day themed plates and napkins and then I set a small gift on each plate. This year when I was on Vacation in MI I went to a discount store and found small teddy bear tins (about 5 inches across) 3 for 1 dollar and Big red heart shaped boxes for 1 dollar a piece. I am thinking of making truffles but not sure yet. Will look into that more tonight when I get done with all that I have to do in the kitchen today.
The never ending laundry pile is calling my name. I have been mixing white vinegar and conditioner for fabric softner and it has worked really good. I have a couple empty vinegar containers and a very large laundry soap container that I want to find uses for. The soap container I am going to save to make homemade soap I think cause its the kind that you sit on its side and push button to get it out.
Whipped up some scrambled eggs and used up the left over fried bread with that. Pretty good, it was!
Somewhere I need to fit in getting coupons matched with sale ads to see what I can get for cheap or free this week. I print coupons all the time but haven't been buying the Sunday paper lately and need to get back into this so I went on ebay and bought circular coupons cheap there to build my supply back up. I mostly never go over 2 or 3 dollars for 100 grocery coupons and thats with free shipping. I had set aside 20 dollars to buy coupons, thats the amount I would have spent to buy 10 sunday papers which I was buying 3 a week when I was buying them so thats not bad because they come cut which is a time saver.
Well off to get something done. Will post pix of whatever I end up making to send to my MI family.
Would like to here what others do for frugal Valentine's Day gifts!
Thought this was a pretty cool idea, probably could do this with containers that you already have too!
